Barely Breathing

Posted by Applesauce at 08:58 AM on December 27, 2004.

I'm back from hibernation and posting just to let you know I'm still alive and yawning. I'm really behind on the updates, but I'll try my best to fill you in.

Last month, I finally tendered my resignation from my old job that I've been harping about for six years. Now I find how ironic it is that I'm missing it a great deal. With my luck, I saw my old bosses (the vice chairman and co-owner, the president and the chief compliance officer) while having lunch at Mandarin Deli with my new manager. I also bumped into my former division head in Eastwood the following day. We exchanged pleasantries and I did my best to look like I was in my element. LOL.

My new job is challenging and requires a lot of patience and dedication. Getting up everyday to find something to wear is a real drag. Not having a PC is another. I also don't have the luxury to get off from work early because I have so many deadlines to meet for the upcoming events early next year. I wonder if I'll ever get out of this alive?

We also found the time for Lexy's first hair cut. It was a shame she was feeling a bit under the weather, so it wasn't an enjoyable experience for all of us. Ponch and I took turns holding her because she refuses to sit anywhere else. We wanted her to watch a SpongeBob flick, but she got saddled with the Teletubbies instead! Lexy just stared at the freaks the whole time, neither laughing nor smiling. My poor baby! After a couple more snips and tears, her ordeal was over. She looks like a cute little imp with her new 'do.

Last Friday, I spent the day with Ponch and Kenneth at their Christmas party in Eastwood. We played bowling and billiards for free! Kenneth and I played bumper bowling so my scoring improved a great deal. Hahaha! Pao and Kris stopped by to give Lexy's gifts and played a few games with us as well. Of course, my delinquent husband left his gift for their daughter at home and unwrapped. In fact, I had to wrap his gifts for his staff during the party...with Kenneth's help, that is. I can't believe that guy enrolled in wrapping class! I didn't even know that such a class existed. That night, Ponch and I drove to Subic to spend Christmas with his family. Lexy was already there walking barefoot on the carpet and looking ridiculously cute with her new pink shades c/o Sis. Despite the food, liquor and merriment, it still wasn't Christmas without the gifts. We left them all in Manila and there wasn't even a tree in the house we stayed in. We got back last night, exhausted from shopping and full from heaps of fine Indian cuisine. I gotta tell you - that Ghost Vindaloo was really smoking! By the end of our vacation three people contracted my virus. How could they not when we were cooped up in one house?

I hope you all had a fantabulous Christmas! Back to work again tomorrow. Pictures to follow!
